Jeri, it hurts to imagine that!

I was going to mow the lawn this evening, but we're back to our normal temperatures here. Funny thing: a few minutes ago I stepped out the side door and over on the wrought iron bench (with cushions) there was a sudden flurry of activity as a couple of the native lizards raced off of it, and a couple of others nearby on pots or rock walls all charged into hiding. I seem to have broken up a meeting of some sort.

I'll mow in the morning when it's cooler but for now it's head to the store for lemons and make a big batch of babaghanouj. Mmmmm! I roasted the eggplants a couple of days ago and they're cut up and ready to go.

Tonight I'm cleaning up the kitchen and I'm finishing some work for work. Three little newsletters need to be sent out, after I subscribe all of the new marketing staff to them. As I hand work over in stages I realize I am going to have more of a life (!) - when you're a one-person department and no one is paying attention to how much work you're doing to get the job done, it is satisfying to hand it all over to other people whose eyes bug out just a little at the volume. The new job is more academically challenging, has plenty of responsibility and uses technical skills that are similar, but it will not eat into my free time the way the other job did. And that is an EXCELLENT thing!
