It is frankly amazing to be in North Texas, typically a hot prairie, and tell you that we seem to be having a monsoon season (something that is usually reserved for the desert southwest, 700+ miles west of here). It's overcast and drizzly this morning.

I'm going to mow a bit of the front yard down near the street to clear the spot where I'll pile branches. I don't normally prune in the summer, but this one multi-stem tree always needs the loppers a couple of times a summer because it grows up against and over the eves in front. I keep the moisture and ants from crawling onto the roof by removing those branches. This isn't the bulky waste pickup time or month for me so I must trim them small and make a tidy stack the regular trash guys can pick up on Monday. Once I have all of those branches out of the way under the tree that I trimmed then I can mow the rest of the yard. (The old Chinese tile puzzle comes to mind with so many things I do around here - work on one spot in preparation for moving something there from another spot.)

Last week a friend a work gave me a tired and battered looking orchid plant that had languished on her office plant stand for a while. I don't remember if I described it here - I picked up some coco fiber to pot it in (something new to me - I have one other orchid here that I bought last week and started researching orchids, that's why she gave me her plant.) I must figure out the bright indirect light part of the equation today, and also work out the formula of water with a little fertilizer to spritz them with. This means doing some decluttering in the sun room. :)

It was a rough week - I hope each of you is able to spend quiet time working on things that both pleases you and leaves things in better order than they were before. This would be one of our little ceremonies that evolved over all of these years of decluttering with Kat and the rest of you. We've done so much more than clean house in these threads! I love you all.
