Well, today, except in some southern states, everyone can call on the protection of the law, so firearms are not needed to protect against systematic racist oppression. Second, the KKK is not the force it was. Third, the remaining racists are usually far better armed so getting into an armed battle is the equivalent of suicide by cop. Fourth, anyone of sense wants to disarm everybody except proper authorities, because guns only increase the ease of killing - and the belief that even semi-automatic weapons are a defence against the armed forces (controlled by the government) that can release "shock and awe" is irrational even by the strange standards of FFS, Ding-dong, and Grand Wizards Q and Juicy Brucie.
