I have a reasonably large collection of books and other material on Punch and Judy which, like Eliza, I also adore. The best ones - like good panto - use traditional material interspersed with cutting edge jokes for the adults. Swanage, Weymouth, Hayling Island - all beaches with sand, by the way - bring back P&J memories galore.

I also have memories of the Brighton showman, 'Sergeant Stone', who used to do a children's show on Brighton beach during the day and a hilariously filthy adult show in the 'Barley Mow' in Kemptown in the evning...
