Subject: RE: BS: Does it matter how tall Tom Cruise is?
Funnily enough, just to diverge for a moment from discussing Tom Cruise, Greg F., and me, I've been reading a lengthy biography of Leonard Cohen, and it turns out that Leonard tried out scientology in the late 60s, early 70s. At first he was well impressed with it, said that it "worked" for him...but by a few years later he became disenchanted with how they were using his name for publicity purposes, and he disassociated himself from the scientology movement.

He is thus an ex-scientologist. (and has been for a long time)

Now, back to our scheduled programming! ;-)

Well, Greg, I have to assume you're angry because anger seems to be the tone of the majority of your postings, that's all. You come here and fight with people about stuff. Just going on the best evidence I can gather...

Whereas I am not hopeless, not at all. Nor am I angry. Nor am I apathetic. Nor am I a relativist...I'm just capable of seeing shades of grey, that's all, so I'll look at different sides of an issue rather than just dividing the world up into "the saved" and "the damned" which is what you seem to do, and that's why I referred to you "looking for another witch to burn". Yours appears to be the condemnatory and righteous fury of the Inquisition, Greg, more worthy of a fire and brimstone fundamentalist than the realist you would claim to be. ;-)

Or at least it seems that way. Maybe it's just your style of speech that makes it seem that way.

I think that my ability to see the shades of grey is what properly reflects reality...because reality is very complex...and that your extremes of passion reflect your own state of mind, not reality. Of course, you will interpret your own state of mind as reality, so I doubt we're likely to reach a resolution on that any time soon. ;-)

But the real question is: Are we having fun yet? I know I am. Hopefully, you are too.
