As I understand the laws involved are much the same as Section 28 used to be, not involving banning gay people, but aimed at what is termed "gay propaganda". I can't see how they'd add up to the kind of discrimination that would justify any official boycott.

Evidence of approved attacks on gay people is another matter, and it sounds. A bit anecdotal, the kind of stuff you could likely assemble about a lot of countries, especially the big ones.

I have a suspicion that the Snowden affair might have quite a lot to do with this.

So far as Jesse Owens goes, I think it's as well to keep in mind what he one said "Although I wasn't invited to shake hands with Hitler, I wasn't invited to the White House to shake hands with the President either"...
