Difficult to do when it's really hot out. Are you still experiencing a heat wave?

I took a long nap - it felt wonderful. I have a tall glass of iced tea, I have the timer going because the soaker hoses are running outside (any kind of timer that goes on the spigot seems to break after 1 season in the sun, and I have one in the house still in the box I need to set up, so for now, I turn it on and use the kitchen time.) And I'm mostly organizing stuff. My kitchen looks great, and will look better if I can move at least one set of wire shelves and the contents.

The new laptop is updating. One of the things about recording stuff on my big computer (the one with the receiver) is that it can connect with the television in the kitchen (that is attached to the old computer) but it can't attach to the big TV in the front room where I'd actually like to watch this stuff. I could climb in the attic and run a very long HDMI cable (megabuck$) or I can use the new laptop (that has an HDMI plug) to connect the computers wirelessly and view the remote content. So for $10 I bought the additional Media Center pack for Win 8 Pro. I'll set it up, run the short cable I already have (and the TV has two HDMI plugs so I don't need to undo the bluray player) and watch these programs through the household network. (Yes, a new cable would have been cheaper than a new laptop, but the new laptop does a lot more than an HDMI cable.)
