I transferred more files from the computer. I dragged them from one folder and dropped them to copy in another on campus to copy overnight and they made the move without the VPN turning itself off. Good! I'm moving more today.

I celebrated a little last night - in a perverse kind of situation - the ceremonial part of my former job that I didn't want to leave but that was given to three other people concluded with an evening meeting. I spent much of the day scrambling to be sure all was set up.
Before the meeting I had a talk with our library second in command who assures me that they're going to do nothing about the unfairness of my previous incorrect job classification and pay. She tells me they won't lower my pay since I don't have nearly as much responsibility now as I used to have. (They considered the move a lateral from my previous wrong classification to the new one. I went on paper from being a secretary to a service desk geek while I was actually a publications editor and designer.) The best I can look for from this lot is that there won't be a raise and I'll keep my current inadequate salary because others in the new department make even less than I do. Who don't have the same skill set or education. . .

Yes, I'm looking around for other opportunities.
