Thread Name: Transatlantic Sessions
Subject: RE: Transatlantic Sessions
The usual waste of great musical talent. Take some excellent musicians from various fields throw them all in together to accompany various vocalists and everything comes out sounding the same. Too tightly arranged. Where is the spontanaiety that comes out of real sessions?
I too was unable to understand what Cara Dillon was singing or why she was even in the programme. Tim O'Brien reduced to backing singer/musician and why was the last line of the adaptation of Aragon Mill repeated ten times. Pipes, flute/whistle and drums on almost everything. How about showing a little more variety in styles of playing in traditional music.
