I was dancing (and squiring) at the wedding of friends in Saffron Walden in October 1992 (the anniversary of which became the Saffron Walden folk festival for a few years) and I remember having a brief word with Mr Pratchett about Morris dancing when he paid a brief visit to join the celebrations (the bride had met him on a creative writing course). Can't remember any details of the conversation after 20 years (am doubtful, as the celebration was at the Eight Bells, which purveyed some very fine ales, whether I remembered the conversation the following day) but Lords and Ladies was published shortly afterwards....
