breezy, I guess it depends on what news your son sees/listens to.

I don't have a TV & have no idea what coverage Commercial Radio & TV are giving. I listen to ABC (similar to BBC - not sure how similar it is to PBS) & my local station (Local Radio - Sydney) is the Fire broadcaster & always drops all regular programming (no ads so they can) & concentrates on whatever disaster is happening when it happens.

Since I woke an hour ago (8am), I've listened to the morning current affairs program & am now listening to people who have lost their homes, or had fires in their streets.

And I can still smell smoke, tho it is fainter this morning.
