Gee, and I spent most of the day up on the range and all I could see was the mountains ahead of me. To the West, the Snake River Plain stretched out to the snow-capped peaks of the Pioneers and the White Clouds 120 miles away, with the silver slash of American Falls Reservoir scintillating in middle distance. Yes, the snow has begun its inexorable procession down the hills, but the gorgeous blue sky and the sunshine brought with it a kind of amnesia about what may come.
