What I MEANT to say was that Spaw is absolutely right. No tv means spending any hotel time obsessively catching up with Duck Dynasty. Unashamedly.

Haven't had tv most of my adult life. I'd be surprised if my children (young adults, now) even remember one in the house.

Yes, there IS a lot of good tv, and Hulu and Netflix makes it possible to see it when you want, if you want.

Nothing makes me crazier, or sadder, than to be in a house where the tv is background noise, or to see gape-mouthed children in front of one, as a 'babysitter'. Like most else, it is a force for good or evil, depending on how it is used.

I also own a 'universal remote' that allows one to turn off obnoxious blaring tvs in public places where all other attempts fail : )
