I've seen guys stand on top of street lamps, even on top of buildings. All you need is a ladder or a lift or some scaffolding. This guy in Labbydoor -- was there any snow involved?

Out here every public building has a spiral stairway enclosed in a tower high enough that the staircase could be used in a snowfall at least 3,810 cms. higher than the building. This was started after the Great Snowfall of '08, when just before Christmas snow obeyed the Biblical injunction that "the valleys be filled" and dropped so much white stuff that it was flat from Chink Peak (2,065.02 meters) to the top of Kinport Peak (2,172.00 meters). Of course, that was a snowfall that only hits every 25 years or so.
