There is no absolute security, but would you leave your front door open because of that? More security than we have is easily possible and should therefore be demanded resolutely. The Sirens from Google etc. lure us into the deep blue sea.

Laws are slightly better than nothing, but then, there are laws against burgling and we still need locks.
