"The Population 'Bomb'" was an unfortunate title. Paul Ehrlich was right in principle about the basics, but wrong about the time scale. Like ANY calculated prediction, it was a SWAG (look it up). The danger in predicting specific dates is that Nature is fickle and humans can be pretty clever at dodging & dancing deadlines.

Climate change IS real... and we are seeing it. Population problems ARE growing, and you can see THAT if you know where to look... and don't wear blinders. The Chinese can see them quite clearly, and Brazil 'could' see them if there weren't so many people in the way. (that's a bad joke.) When Brazil has cut down the rain forest for a few more years, they will will see all too clearly... and so will the rest of the world, as what happens to the Brazilian forests affects climate... and population... everywhere- especially in North Africa. (look THAT up)

Sarcastic threads making fun of environmental prophets remind me of the guy who fell off the top of the Empire State building: As he passed the 74th floor, he was heard to yell. "Well...so far, so good!".

Moral: Excessive caution can have its own benefits, but blindness to obvious dangers almost never works out.
