Koch, whose vast wealth comes form fossil fuels, makes large donations to public radio/TV and keeping the money coming becomes more important than reporting the facts.

we need to "follow the money" to see where to subtle influences are that seek to sway public opinion by presenting fiction as if it were fact and derailing any attempt to find out what is really going on.

political goals can and will not change the rules of nature... but they can and do influence how we deal with the outcome of our actions.
