The roads were in horrible shape yesterday afternoon, despite the bright sun. (Which caused its own problems with glare.) Still so much wind and blowing snow, and since the snow is lightweight stuff, it just sits there and gets slippery.

Not surprising on Nottingham roads, but Rte 4 was slow and slippery; I almost turned back at the Circle. Closer to Portsmouth, the Spaulding was clear of snow and slipperiness but Portsmouth Circle and the Bypass were not great -- better, though, than when I got onto Portsmouth streets. Really hideous. If I didn't know better, I'd say they hadn't been plowed at all, just powder compressed to slipperiness.

Still cold today but not as cold as yesterday. Supposed to have a high of 24F, but right now it's about 6F. Oh, and the wind? It's still there.

Sun's out. Driveway beautifully plowed. Deck cleared.

Think I'll go back to bed and read for awhile.
