okthen, if you are trying to commit suicide with cigarettes, there is an excellent chance you will be successful.

It's pretty much a sure bet that smoking caused the heart attack that killed my mother on Thanksgiving (she was 70 years old). She was very careful about her fat and cholesterol intake, and she was very active. But she was a lifelong smoker. If the heart attack hadn't killed her, she probably would have had a long, painful death from emphysema (which she was already showing signs of), or lung cancer.
