Thread Name: Lyr Req: Manchester Morning (from The Pennines)
Subject: Lyr Add: MANCHESTER MORNING (from The Pennines)
I listened on YouTube and transcribed this.

MANCHESTER MORNING
As recorded by The Pennines on "Manchester Morning"

Manchester morning early
Hurrying from the train
Manchester morning early
Back in the north again
Hurrying from the station
Down a forgotten street
Listening to the cobbles
Clatter against your feet

Manchester morning early
Sheltering from the rain
Manchester morning early
Memories flood with rain
Wind in the empty buildings
Whistles a lonely tune
Making the early dawn clouds
Scurry across the moon

And then the dawn
Lifts his head above the railway track
And then the sun
Rises like a copper-coloured Cadillac

La-la-la-la-la-la (etc.)

Manchester morning early
Under the market halls
Watching the flower traders
Busy around the stalls
Colourful hats and polo shirts
Calico prints and wine
Indian mats and carpets
Glasses of French design

Manchester morning early
City begins to wake
Manchester morning early
Traffic begins to shake
Night with its icy fingers
Rattling across the miles
Leaving his silver patterns
Glistening on the tiles

And then the dawn
Lifts his head above the railway track
And then the sun
Rises like a copper-coloured Cadillac.
