Emmys on tonight so there is a repeat Masterpiece (Sherlock) opposite. No rush to watch the first two programs. Good! It's too lovely outside to spend hours indoors watching TV.

I've been in and out today, soon to head out for a while with the mattock and wheelbarrow. I distributed all of the irises I dug up so far, but more await. I need to sieve the soil from that area to get the straggler iris rhizomes - I dug out this bed last summer and as many returned as before, even though I was trying to remove them all!

A neighbor called to check on me today - enough time had passed with a vehicle she didn't recognize in my driveway that she wanted to see if I was okay. When Susie stopped for a cuppa tea on her way home the two unknown vehicles put Pearlie over the top, so she called. I had a quiet bet going with myself that someone would call pretty soon. I don't think people saw the front end of the pickup to know that it needed work or replacing, I parked it on Thursday night and drove out on Friday morning to trade it in. Next door might have seen it, but I parked pretty close to the garage door, so the fence was blocking their view. It's a lovely neighborhood, very polite, and I need to let the rest of them know I am okay and that this new vehicle is now the one I'm driving. I made banana bread this afternoon, maybe I'll deliver some around and explain the change.
