Bruce: Agree re ineligibility of Musket's so-called "Sonnet"; it just isn't one -- and he knows perfectly well the necessity for, and usefulness of, accurate & precise categorisation. Only recognised variant from the 14-line form, which subsumes the Petrarchan, Spenserian, Shakespearean, Miltonic &c variants, and others in other languages [esp Italian, the original -- invented by Petrarch -- & French], is Gerard Manley Hopkins's proportionately reduced variant, which he called the 'curtal sonnet' ~~ worth looking up on wikipedia for those interested in the sonnet form.

Your own most accomplished efforts appear to me in the main to vary between the Spenserian & Shakespearean forms.
