Five years ago tomorrow, I entered the hospital without the ability to breathe and walk twenty-five feet. I had come down with a virulant pneumonia. I had been smoking for less than three years. The smoking contributed to my vulnerability to develop a respirtory illness. Upon my recovery, my pulmonary doctor advised me that I was nearly a goner. Never needed to hear anything further. Haven't smoked since and don't miss it. That feeling of near suffocation will remain with me the balance of my life. Now I enjoy a variety of physical activities without a discernable effect from that illness. Do yourself a HUGE favor and never light up again. You'll breathe freer.bflat
