In both cases below I thought, whaaaat?

On a radio talk show I heard a caller say " I believe in free speech, but people are saying the wrong things, and we have to do something about it."

Another caller was complaining about foreign ownership of local coastal land. He said, "the Germans are coming here and paying big prices for shore front land, much more than the locals can afford - and buying it all up. Pretty soon, there won't be any coastal land left for local white folks"
