Seems like a terrible thing to do, for obvious reasons, but I feel bound to honour her wisdom. I guess I can never talk to Victor again because I would have to lie to him and that would be more than difficult. Matter of fact, I can't conceive of it, especially because I feel terribly guilty for not immediately warning him of the hazard.

Oh dear! Just spoke with Mum. She asked me what was going on at Gaudet's house early this AM. "Fire engine" was on the street in front of the house and a "truck" was in the driveway with lights flashing and the back doors open. I then looked out and the front outdoor light is on and his son's car is parked on the street and the living room light is not on. Oh my.
