In my opinion, what is troublesome is not the post but peoples response, why was it necessary for anyone to post this.

If The Moderators have the ability to pinpoint posts coming from a computer, this was either a wild guess or someone who was informed, so that begs the question,why do it, why attempt to remove somebodys anonymity, when they have not at that point been troublesome.

That post is actually Inflammatory and was the start of the trouble. The moderators must know who posted that particular remark.
Mudcat does not state in its rules that anonymous guests can not post threads which are asking for feedback about their own work.
Here again is the original post, It is an attempt to get feedback about a book,

Why should the poster not be able to remain anonymous.
If the poster had given a web site and said this is a fantastic book, that would be shameless promotion. The original post encourages feedback, whether the feedback be positive or negative.
