Hi GSS. Titles have their purposes and their limits. Note the quotes in the actual op. No question that anyone likely to post, or the OP thinks there is a line in the sand or that r&r was suddenly invented. I am not going to have much to offer here, but will definitely look forward to following and listening to music I know will be good that eventually evolved, and eventually got labeled rock & roll.
