Just had a listen to the youtube tune, sounds like Stewball the pony and Lennon's Xmas song to me. The Ambonese tune I know for the 'Lagu Dolan' is different indeed and more like a Schottishe. Next trip to Ambon I'll track down some old dancebands and get the whole thing. Better still get one of their dancebands to play and record it. Ambonese music of the period wasn't so dissimilar to the woolshed dance stuff, they call it 'Nostalgia' or 'Oldtime' music these days but contemporary Ambonese ballads still have their roots in it. And the kids still do the oldtime dances like the Timorese.
