Have typed posts on successive days that haven't posted. I suspect the problem is I have too many windows open moving among different sites and have forgotten to hit submit before heading back to some place such as youtube to listen to music.

Spring is here - and I am determined to enjoy the reckless abandonment and risk taking the wild and the cultivated plants in my yard are taking in the much more variable weather than they are accustomed to.

Headed for the mountains in a few days, joined by my sister Annie. No one could wish for a better travel companion. 2 days of boring workshops that are business for me, then 3 days of wondering the mountains to enjoy spring ephemerals and stop on a whim at roadside and obscure museums and libraries on the search for both genealogical information and understanding of the culture, conditions and times of our ancestors, Native American and European alike.

Will be scattering some of Kat's ashes along the way, in wild and beautiful places. Sometimes to the sound of Annie's fiddle playing a mountain tune, and if a flat rock is handy on which to dance, I'll probably flatfoot or clog a little in joyous remembrance. Not just in remembrance of Kat, but in celebration of all of you.
