Yes, most breeds do have "rescue" organizations, but some are unfortunately, not very efficient. I have a friend who breeds Basenji's and currently owns 9. She rescued a year old female from a raided puppy mill. She can't keep it because it is not one of her "pack". She is not having any luck placing it, no help at all from Basenji Rescue Nat'l, and if she doesn't find a home for it, it will have to be put down.

PS--Benji didn't look like a Westie to me at all. They are white, and the round face is in the clip. Airedale or Lakeland for coloring, and maybe Sheltie for coat....but when you get more than 2 in the mix, it is impossible to tell.
