I really like "Theme For The Early Days Of A Better Nation" music written by Matt Seattle the Border Piper and adopted Borderer and lyrics by both Matt and David Finnie the songwriter from Hawick. Both are regulars at Denholm Folk Club and Matt has posted on here on occassions. It is sung here by the fiddler Lori Watson - another Borderer. Matt accompanied her on guitar at the Border Gaitherin in Coldstream a fortnight ago and it was really quite moving. Even No voters liekd the song. A string backing in this video
