Sorry Matt, I'm with Guest on this one. It is always proper to put the other person first. In this case, it would be proper to say, ..to further my girlfriends, and MY etc. The way I was taught was, if you are not sure how to say it, take away the name of the other person, if you do that, it would read..to further ME whatever.
