I have made the point in several places that the Marathon Singaround has, of all of Whitby's events probably done more for the development of traditional singing than most people realise. I can think of a number of current professional performers who first 'dared' to sing in public at Mo and Joe's event. By the way Fred, I've also heard some appalling rubbish at Whitby , but very little of that was in the Marathon Singaround!
