The UK has daily comics like "the Sun" & "the Star" and they are read by a lot of people. If they publish the truth it is only because it is more sensational than anything they could invent. And everyone knows they all hack people's phones. Some are better at covering their tracks.
Sky News (more of Murdoch's empire) had to admit they hacked a pedophile's phone when they gave the information to the police.
