Perhaps you mean Oaken Logs?

Oaken logs will warm you well that are old and dry
Logs of pine will sweetly smell but the sparks will fly

that one?

My band MotherTongue recorded it on "This Winter's Night"...the poem is old and the tune setting is by a group called Coven in the Greenwood (but I think the tune itself is old).
