I made an error on the CD title. It is "When I See Winter Return" which, if you translate to French is the title of one of the other great songs on it. The copyright date is 1997 and it is on the Waterbug label. "January Man" and "The Trees Are All Bare" are my other favorites on this CD.

Some time ago I corresponded with William Pint about "The Woodcutter's Song" and its source. He said that as far as he knew it was traditional and mentioned the name of someone from whom he had heard it. I have long since forgotten the name he gave.
