I'm a very fussy eater (no greens) & was looking at a possible up-market pub lunch, but the menu outside seemed devoid of anything I'd fancy. Then I realised that a Croque Monsieur is actually a cheese & ham toastie!
Apparently, if you add an egg on top (either poached or fried) it changes gender & becomes a Croque Madame.
