GHOST JOGGERS IN THE SKY
As recorded by Joggers, Inc. on "Russ Abbot's Madhouse" (1984)

I remember I went walking out one dark and windy night.
Up the road I wandered walking where the lamps were bright.
It was then I heard an eerie sound coming from up high.
A group of men in track suits came jogging through the sky.

Look at us go, limping away,
Ghost joggers in the sky.

One of them approached me and his breath was cold as ice.
His voice was weak and croaking, and he gave me this advice:
"Son, don't buy a track suit, 'cause running ain't no buzz.
You'll end up six feet under, or jogging 'round with us."

Look at us go, limping away,
Ghost joggers in the sky.

Well, marathons were all the rage; I saw it come to use,
So I bought myself a track suit and a pair of training shoes.
I run like mad around the streets and sprinted through the crowds
Till I crashed in a heap and I found myself jogging through the clouds.

Look at us go, limping away,
Ghost joggers in the sky.

So those of you who are trapped at home, not used to getting out,
Should buy themselves some running gear and see what it's about.
It's the best escape you'll ever find; just you wait and see.
When you find us jogging next to you, you'll find you're really free.

Look at us go, limping away,
Ghost joggers in the sky. [REPEAT AND FADE.]
