Same here. Things accomplished, and now a relaxing glass of Shiraz and checking in before heading to bed to read for a little while. I made two batches of mustang grape jelly this afternoon, clearing out the 2 litre container of juice and several smaller things from the fridge. I have batches of rice and of kung pao chicken to use for lunch this week.

I also finally found one of the longer running programs on television that streams from the very beginning via NetFlix. I have been aware of the program Bones but never watched it - I like to see a series from the beginning, to pick up the backstory and relationships. I watched seven episodes while I worked in the kitchen this afternoon and evening. I also made a loaf of bread during this binge of cooking and murder mysteries. Via disk I'm going to start watching The Big Bang Theory. The tasks I have been assigned at work are so colossally boring that that the others doing these jobs stream videos while they work. It's the only way to keep your butt in the chair and have something to focus on. Not the job I accepted when I was hired 17 years ago, and not the job I intend to do much longer if I can help it.

So, nice to get to meet new characters, this program has the same mix of drama and mystery and comic relief as the British mystery New Tricks. That works for me. A couple laugh out loud moments means they've really thought out the intricacies and can plan them in several directions. When did I ever laugh watching one of the CSI or Law and Order mysteries? None that I can think of. Though the Jeff Goldblum detective in Criminal Intent made me smile a few times.
