An early pass through the garden yielded several eggplant, average ~ 10 ounce, a handful of Roma tomatoes, and one lovely okra. There are more blooms on the flowers now, I'm hoping to start getting enough to use for meals soon. I gave a few to my next-door neighbor who likes them boiled ("bowled" is the Southern pronunciation) but her husband only likes them fried. She'll simmer those to go with her lunch.

Ants in the house still, stalking anything trash-related that I miss. I think they were attracted by either the wrapping some fish came in last night (frozen) or a paper towel that had some bacon grease. These aren't sugar ants, they're the other kind. Annoying, but here one minute and gone the next. More diatomaceous earth puffed into the general area.

The call is in requesting the shingles shot. Apparently the doctor needs to approve it, but then I can walk in, I won't have to make an appointment.

Linn, I envy you your scenic drives. I have different routes to and from work that I follow on whim and in order to keep my brain engaged in noticing the differences along the route. Autopilot for 30 minutes each way isn't stimulating or necessarily healthy.

Alternate fasting day today - one small meal that I'll take to eat at work. I've been climbing the stairs more often in the building to build the fitness level. Every little bit helps. This is a good time of year for this, when I feel more energetic as the weather gradually cools.
