I let them inside To from the pouring rain They run and muddy the floor They all wag their tails And jump upon me And lick my face some more

I rise up to get a cat Who's been sleeping all the day Stretched like a king on the couch I feel his deadened weight in my arms And a pulling and tearing in my gut As I lift up this old maddened grouch
