Weeellll...I got the recipe from the Frugal Chef's cookbook. He was from Seattle. Oh, it helps to warm the milk slightly before putting it in.

I've had biscuits and gravy from Maine to California and from Northern Montana to the Deep, Deep, South. They were a staple in Western Central Illinois where I grew up, as much as I ever did. They were served from chuckwagons and can be a quick and simple meal in hunting or other camps.
