I very rarely use the oven in the cooker(stove) these days. I got a halogen oven - a big glass bowl with metal stands in it and a radiant heat source with fan over the top. It uses less power than the big oven and serves as both the container and the oven - it is a lot easier to clean than the big oven too, plus it doesn't dry things out.

I tend to cook for just myself using it, as it is economical, so there isn't much of a saving, but I benefit from having better choices than before - plus there is no warm up time, so the food is on the plate faster.
