Pea soup! Sounds perfect. I'll make myself some. This weekend I broke out the sweatshirts - and it's time to buy a couple of new ones, these are pretty decrepit after many years of use. I layer, of course, so they still work, but they aren't the most attractive for going out in public.

I shopped on the way home yesterday, bringing home a lot for both the foreseeable near-future activities (thanksgiving) and for every day use for sometime to come. I found some tenderloin steaks in the "managers special" bin that I cut into 4 oz sections and froze in seal-a-meal bags. Small amounts makes it an affordable treat and helps keep the cholesterol from rising when I occasionally partake. Mostly I'm eating healthier proteins: in particular, I found a recipe for croquettes recently and I'm going to try to master the salmon croquette this winter.

I should have thought ahead, though - this time of year stores usually give a free turkey if you buy $X amount, and I met that criteria last night, something I don't do often. I think I can manage it again one more time by picking up a couple of more cases of canning jars next time I shop. I'm going to be using up most of what I have this weekend to make green tomato relish. The major christening of the new stove - a big pot of water for processing the relish.

I also have to work on a book for work that I have pushed aside for way too long. Now I need to finish it, and on my time.
