Beautifully sunny - and cold 23F - in Montreal. No word from Vanessa re heat in studio. We will be going down tonight for the cafe; hope nothing has frozen. R needs to turn on heat in that distant toilet room and freeze-proof the laundry area. Always a bit late; I suspect he was born late?

Yesterday I spent the entire morning foraging: food, MSM, a floor sponge mop and extra head as I have given up trying to find the correct heads for the handles we have... Got back and put car in legal today spot and sorted groceries into places. Then bf as I had dashed out to move car to legal parking and decided to do errands while out. Then lunch; I find I have to catch up so I ate the left over F. toast, still yummy. Then had to finish the current novel which I did before 5 and then walked to the library and returned it and came back with 5 - of which 2 turn out to be too far out for my taste. R came home early and SICK. A friend was having a b-day party nearby but he fell asleep until after 7 and I suggested no one would thank him for coming in that condition, so we stayed home, watched Big Bang, Suzuki, the Doc Zone and the news. And on computer.

I had trouble sleeping and after two trips to can, I decided a hot bath was in order so I went upstairs to do that. It was dark when I went up and still dark when I came down. Eventually I went to sleep and was content to stay in bed when he jumped up and dashed away about 7:30. Got up at 11 and had the toast bf, put the bedding and more into machine and now in dryer. R came home for lunch and we talked about the issue of going to the mill. Looks as though we are going together at 6ish. UNLESS he gets a trailer loaded.... "And the only reason I'm hanging around is to find out what the heck is going to happen next..." But I do get tired of waiting at times.

Good news for me is that I am better able to negotiate getting in and out of the bath tub. I am also increasingly able to do things with my arms; I have to tell myself "I can!" and usually am able to move in directions as not before. I need to strengthen the muscles by doing things.

Although we thought Igor had left, he came back and finally we caught him about a week ago in the live trap. He had managed to remove an apple and an avocado from the trap and had gone back in for the other apple which was further in. R took him to the office and bro got so excited that they were feeding him and gave him water and admired him. He was a handsome fellow. Poor guy died yesterday and we feel badly. I would have preferred he be released and live out his days in his natural habitat near the canal. Even if he was killed by a predator, it would be better than dying in a cage. I have requested the trap back to be stored in the back shed in case... It is lovely not having a rat, even a handsome one.

Reminded that I do have yarn, hooks and needles at the mill; I keep meaning to start some small project, hats or scarves to sell at the Market. Maybe I can find the yarn in the morning.

I take delight in Susan's progress. And everyone else's also.
