The search box isn't so good but I sometimes use
lastfm
which then has a link to the Spotify track, usually.
There is sometimes better info about the band/track too.

I can't do it on this android but on a PC is it possible to drag Spotify track search results into a new playlist, then sort by performer/time etc ?
