Thread Name: A message to Ewan McVicar
Subject: Sow Song - Ewan McVicar Version
Well, I want to see if we can get Ewan back for an answer to another pressing question. In my recent travels of the Eastern United States, I had the privilege of hearing the "Old Sow Song" sung by both Bert AND Ewan. Now, Bert's version is in the database (click), and he even gave us cheat sheets so we'd be able to understand what he was singing (for what it was worth). What Ewan sang sounded completely different - but I couldn't tell whether this was due to a difference in the words, the accent, the grunts and whistles, or all of the above. So, Ewan, dear friend, in all humility, I ask if you could point us to the lyrics you used, or post them if they're different from what's here. While both Bert and Ewan did a wonderful job of the song, I have to say that Ewan's grunts and whistles were far more credible. -Joe Offer-
