I was recently reunited with a bunch of silver dollars I had as a kid. My grandmother gave me one each time I got all As and Bs on my elementary school report card. At some point in my twenties, I got hard up for cash and was going to sell them to a coin shop, but my mother intervened and insisted I sell them to her instead to keep them in the family. Mom passed away a couple of years back and we found those silver dollars in her dresser while going through her stuff. By all rights, they should have been divided equally between my two sisters and myself, but they insisted I have all of them.
