Indeed, it is a different itch, and nothing quite scratches it like working a good piece of wood or two.

I love the Trompe lecture, Gnuzer. I hope the auld gent isn't addlepated.

Sometimes it gets a bit much. Friday and Saturday were spent working on son's hard disk and buying a new laptop for him after his just keeled over and died mid-scroll. Saturday pm our tenant had to be driven to the Urgent Care clinic to have his knee looked into--he had lambasted it doing a desperate save in a volleyball game, and it was hurting to die for. Turned out nothing torn or broken, just a serious muscle sprain. Then the pharmacy for his pain killers.

Then this morning my own desktop machine just failed in the middle of a process, went black and would not start. dead as a mackerel.

So Tuesday I haul it into the shop in hopes of salvaging at least the hard drive if not the whole machine. Probably blew the mother board or the power supply.
Son goes back to LA with his new laptop as happy as a clam and calls today to say his iPhone has been stolen or lost somehow .

Ain't one goddam thing, it's another.

Or, as they say, life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans.
