Thread Name: Lyr Add: The Donut Song - name that tune
Subject: Lyr Add: The Donut Song
Here's a song we're including in the upcoming Rise Again songbook:

DONUT SONG

Well I walked around the corner & I walked around the block
I walked right into a donut shop
And I picked up a donut & I licked off the grease
I handed the lady my 5 cent piece
Well she looked at my nickel & she looked at me
She said "This nickel is no good for me
There's a hole in the middle & it goes right thru"
I said "Lady, there's a hole in the donut too!
But thanks for the donut - toodle-oo"
D - / - A / D - / D AD  D AD

——trad. (US - m: "Turkey in the Straw")

The usual tune is "Turkey in the Straw," as in these recordings:

Can't say I like the third one.

But I found a recording of the song on Spotify with a very familiar tune that I can't identify. What comes to my mind is a song that might have the title "dah dah on Parade" (but what word goes to the dah dah?)

Here's the Spotify URL for the recording in question. The singer is Steven Richard Lindholm, but what's the tune?
